Welcome to Kamiloiki Elementary School

Kamiloiki Elementary School is located on a hill above Kamiloiki Valley, in the heart of Hawaii Kai. It is on the south eastern side of the island of Oahu. Kamiloiki, which means "the little milo tree", opened in 1970 and has a little over 400 students. The symbol of Kamiloiki School is a tri-leaved branch of the Milo tree with a flower in the center.

At Kamiloiki, our vision is to be a premier math and science/technology center that emphasizes exploration, discovery and achievement within a global community.
Our mission at Kamiloiki Elementary School is to promote a partnership of students, parents, community and staff dedicated to developing inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who understand, respect and make positive contribution to our diverse world.

Please enjoy the temporary website while a new one is designed.

Cougar Cub Challenge

Many, many thanks to all of you for supporting the Cougar Cub Challenge on March 1st! The event coincided with Drug-Free Week. Over $17,000 was raised with the help of the Friends of Kamilo`iki School to go towards IB/MAST, technology and classroom supplies. How very fortunate to be recipients of generous donations from corporations (HECO, CSI Design, Judy Sobin, Bright Foundations, Outback Steakhous, Hybrid Design, and Hawaii Kai Orchid Society) and family pledges. Much appreciation also to PE teacher Daniel Adachi and Counelor Kim Ushiroda for organizing the fun-filled fitness stations and to Kaiser High School Coaches Rich Miano, Chad Ikei and the 14 NFL/college football players they brought to start off the event. http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/21441483/local-nfl-and-college-players-get-kamiloiki-elementary-school-kids-pumped-up-for-fun It was such an enjoyable day for everyone.

We Need Your Help!

BOXTOPS FOR EDUCATION and LABELS FOR EDUCATION

Kamiloiki School is participating in the BOXTOPS FOR EDUCATION and LABELS FOR EDUCATION programs and we need your help to reach our goals.

BOXTOPS FOR EDUCATION pays 10 cents for every boxtop that you turn in. Our conservative goal for this year is $1,000 - that's 10,000 boxtops. Our school needs the money to pay for Math / Science / Technology equipment for our science lab and other classroom programs. Sign up for the Box Tops email newsletter at www.boxtops4education.com. Sometimes they offer bonus boxtops and sweepstakes so you can win extra boxtops for our school without spending a dime!

LABELS FOR EDUCATION has a catalog of items that we can earn by turning in labels and V8 caps. This year they're emphasizing Arts / Athletics / Academics merchandise. In these days of budget restrictions, Kamiloiki can use all the free stuff that we can get! Sign up at www.labelsforeducation.com and take a look at the Kamiloiki homepage through My School.

Kamiloiki Recycling!

Recycle! Every Thursday morning our PTSA and student service groups are ready to receive your HI 5 plastics, glass and aluminium cans. All proceeds benefit our students, so please load up your car and donate those items any Thursday.

Recycle your ink cartridges: A box is located in the school office where you can turn in your empty inkjet/laser cartridges from friends, home, work, etc. Just throw your cartridge in a ziploc bag and drop it in the box in the office. Kamiloiki can earn anywhere between 25 cents & $5 per cartridge. Let your office friends and office IT department know that we are collecting empty inkjet & laser cartridge.
